This vintage Must de Cartier Paris silk scarf from the early 1980's captures the exuberant visual language associated with Cartier accessories of the period, combining architectural imagery with an elaborate arrangement of motifs drawn from the Maison’s wider universe of jewellery, watches and objects.

The composition is centred around a stylised Cartier boutique façade rendered in deep green, ivory and vivid red, with the Cartier signature incorporated prominently above the entrance. Surrounding the architectural scene is a richly illustrated network of gold-tone chains and charms, including miniature watches, animals and decorative emblems, such as the Panthere, Tank, Double C, and Santos Dumont's airplane, creating an intricate design that rewards closer inspection. A contrasting black border frames the composition, while the “must de Cartier Paris” signature is incorporated discreetly within the artwork.

Executed in fine silk with the fluid drape and lustrous surface characteristic of Cartier scarves, the piece combines an unusually bold colour palette with the playful sophistication of the historic Must de Cartier line. The architectural centrepiece and collection of miniature Cartier-inspired charms make this a particularly distinctive example, equally suited to being worn, preserved as a decorative collectible or framed on the wall.

This example is accompanied by its original red Must de Cartier Paris presentation box, finished with gold-tone detailing and retaining the original interior care inscription. Together, the scarf and its period presentation form a highly evocative example of vintage Cartier accessory design.
